I use the Mr. Coffee Ice Tea Maker. This makes about a half gallon. If you do not have one, I would bring 1/2 gal. water to boil. (4 cups)
I sweeten with Smoky Mountain liquid sweetener (Food Lion has it, I know). I add this to water before I pour it into the Ice Tea Maker. I use 2 Tbs. each run - or each half gallon. If you are boiling the water in a pan, add the sweetener lastly.
I use 3 Family Size Food Lion brand Tea Bags that are decaffeinated (green box). Let steep for a good 20 minutes before removing if using pan on stove - or before adding to rest of tea if using Mr. Tea Maker.
Hope this helps. I think the Smoky Mountain sweetener gives it a good taste. When you are in the sugar section of Food Lion, it usually is on top shelf.

P. S. Happened to think. If you are making in pan on top of stove, after water comes to boil, remove from heat for steeping process.
