Sourdough Bread


Every 3 – 5 days feed starter with the following . . .
· 3 TBSP Potato Flakes
· ¾ Cup Sugar
· 1 Cup Very Hot Water

·      Set out at room temperature for 8 – 12 hours, this is the time to make your bread.

To make the bread, mix the following in a very large bowl . .

6 Cups Pillsbury Bread Flour (sift)              
½ Cup Sugar
½ Cup Oil                                      
1 TBSP Salt
1 ½ Cup Warm Water (mix into water, 2 pkgs. Yeast)
1 Cup Starter

Put dough in large greased bowl, turning dough to grease all sides.
·      Cover with wax paper and towel and let set in warm place 8 – 12 hours or until soft and doubled in size.
·      Separate into 3 equal pieces, knead each one and place in 3 loaf pans.
·      (I place the loaf pans; uncovered; into the oven to let rise)
·      Bake after doubled in size again.
·      Bake in preheated oven 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and place on cooling rack, brush with butter.
