Beef Stew (Gail)

MUST BE ESP---I have been thinking about you all day and how I should stop what I'm doing and send you the recipe!  :-)  So, now I'm stopping!  It is a SECRET recipe and you have to PROMISE not to pass it on!!!  But, because you're special and I know how badly  you need this I'm going to give it to you!!!!!!!!!!!!  It takes hours and hours to make and lots and lots and lots and lots of ingredients, so you need to plan way ahead of time to make it.  First--go to the grocery store, find the aisle where the baking things are and look for the packaged mixes, and find the one that is French's Beef Stew Mix, pick up 2 lbs. of stew beef in the meat section, pay for your purchases, return home, FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!!!!!!!!  Isn't that hard??  :-)  Gotcha!!!!!  One of the most important things is to brown the floured meat slowly and well with the onions and celery, add a cup, of the 3 cups water to your skillet so that all the good brown pieces loosen, put in your crock-pot (this is actually the secret to making it really good), mix the mix in the other 2 cups of water and pour over the meat and stir well, the last hour add the vegetables. I sometimes par boil the vegetables to hasten the cooking time.  Hope it turns out well for you.  Hope you're feeling better.  Hope to see you all tomorrow night.     Love Ya, GAIL

Vegetables = carrots, potatoes, peas.  Add the peas when stew is almost done.

Or you can buy a chuck roast and cut into small pieces – saves money sometimes

I add all the water and package mix to skillet, and also bring to a slow boil – just to thicken a little.
