Sugar Cookies

3 ½ cup Flour                                             1 ½ Cup Sugar
1 Tsp Baking Powder                                    2 Well Beaten Eggs
½ tsp. Salt                                                 1 ½ tsp. Vanilla
1 Cup Shortening

  • Cream shortening and sugar; beat in eggs and vanilla.
  • Work in flour with baking powder and salt sifted in.
  • Wrap I foil and chill until firm.
  • Roll a small amount at a time until about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Cut out with cutters.
    Bake at 400 for 5-8 minutes.
  • Cool before removing.
  • Yields 6 dozen
  • Ice with confectioners sugar, a few drops of vanilla flavoring and milk mixed to spreading consistency – tint with food coloring.
